Fetes and J'ouvert
Book ahead. Pre-book your ride up to a week ahead and cancel for free until an hour before. Early-morning J'ouvert starts and late fete finishes are exactly when you want your ride arranged before you leave.
- Send your driver's name, plate and vehicle by message to someone you trust.
- Match the plate and vehicle before you get in.
- Set an emergency contact in Profile, and know where the SOS button is inside every ride.
Expect road closures
Expect road closures and slow traffic around Carnival events. The live ETA uses current traffic, but allow extra time and agree a sensible meeting point with your driver using the in-app chat.
Pay with the wallet
Pay from your wallet so you are not counting cash in a crowd. Top up ahead at takemethere.taxi/topup, or ask a friend to send you wallet credit. Cash in TT$ also works.
Tobago Carnival
Tobago Carnival is held in late October. In Tobago, rides are available where drivers are online near you, so check the app when you arrive.
